Exercise and keeping active are vital parts of any healthy lifestyle and weight loss in general.
We know that making big changes to your diet and lifestyle all at once can be overwhelming and ultimately can counteract your slimming efforts. This is why exercise is gradually introduced as you progress through the different phases, allowing you to get more active only once you've had the psychological boost of initial weight loss.
Exercise doesn't have to be about hitting the gym. It's about being active and finding an activity or sport that you can enjoy. Protein diets are particularly effective if you are trying to build muscle aswell as lose weight!
To help you work out what types of activities to introduce at what stage of the diet plan, please see examples of our three levels of activity intensity:
Low intensity: e.g. Walking, gardening and housework
Medium Intensity: e.g. Brisk walking, cycling, hiking, dancing and swimming
High Intensity: e.g. Running, aerobics, spinning and weight training
